FRIDAY FICTIONEERS PHOTO PROMPT
WORD COUNT: 100
Dad: “That must be mom. Dinner ready?”
Girl: “Yes”.
Mom walked in, holding an envelope.
Mom: “What’s this?”
Dad: “I… I… I can explain.”
Mom: “You’re busted.”
Girl: “Mom, Dad, can we discuss after dinner? Please?”
Mom: “Dinner??? We’ll have to beg for it soon!”
Without a word, Dad stormed out.
Mom: “YES, RUN AWAY! The perfect solution!”
Girl: “Mom?”
Mom: “Honey… I’m not hungry. Sorry.”
Later, with dinner placed on her dressing table, the girl looked into the mirror and wondered why her life doesn’t change. As tears burned her eyes, she ate a very salty pizza that night.

Yes. That’s true. Sometimes people can be very irresponsible.

Heart wrenching lines, for someone out there this is life and not fiction.

It’s so hard for kids, to be pulled into adult issues. That said, sounds like a family under more than one pressure.

Nicely done. I like that you didn’t tell what he had done. I figured probably lost his job or an affair. Great story.
