I draw my velvet curtains aside,
There glows the Sun’s pride,
The golden rays I see,
unbolt my eyes like a key.
Under the sky clad in gold,
I shiver within a storm so cold,
Like a dried leaf that departs a tree,
The final drop of hope drains away from me.
The golden rays of the Sun speak,
“A pity to see one turn so weak!!”
I fight back against the Sun’s might,
“Don’t you bathe in darkness every night?”
“I swim in the black pools of my limitless dream,
guided by the stars that gleam,
While in the whirlpool of doubts, you choose to drown.”
says the Sun, glaring with a frown.
I now finally see.
When I let fear grip me with ease,
panic strangles reason and dreams cease.
The stars fade away from the blue meadow,
while the moon reflects my empty shadow.
On what grounds I stand, I should choose,
for that view decides if I would win or lose.
Even in the darkest of time,
a sound mind could make the heart chime.
Even as the golden rays of the Sun die,
I shall prepare to soar high.
Hope would be alive within me,
I realize, only if I choose it to be.

Yuhu’s Corner:
“It’s all in your head” is something I hear a lot. Although it is sometimes annoying to hear that, I feel that it is true. The thoughts in the poem are those that I constantly remind myself of, to believe and have faith and not to succumb to thoughts of negativity.
I believe I’m becoming good at the disappearing act. Unfortunately, work is getting too hectic and I’m finding no time to write. I must write at least twice a week. Let’s see if I have the Grit! Hope you’re all doing well.
Wonderful to read your inspiring words again. They always manage to send me into deep thoughts of imagination.

Tama-san!!! I love you so much for writing such wonderful poetry!!! Reading pieces like this one is such an inexplicable bliss!!! I’m not kidding…I really mean it…I totally love lyrical poems, and this one is simply splendid, both for its poetic beauty and meaning..
By the way, speaking of good poetry, have you heard from Uchiha? Haven’t seen him in WP for a long time now..
