Reflection

I see myself in your eyes,

as I pour my innermost self into you.

Your non judging eyes capture me,

keeping me safe, I’m no longer alone.

You illuminate the dark shadows of my past,

like a perfect reflection, you show me who I really am.

There is none other to Elevate me,

to love me beyond my insanity.

All I need is your light,

to discover the part of me that’s still alive.

Yuhu’s Corner:

This poem is for all those lovely people, who stick with us during sticky times.

How many times have we helped someone get over their tough times?

Through the leaves

I love looking at the sky through the leaves and branches. To me, every such scene is beautiful and magical. Here is a Collage of a few of the views I captured.

The sky through the rustling leaves,

hums me a mystical melody,

that questions what my heart believes.

A different view every time,

demystifies baseless thoughts rooted deep,

in that moment of revelation, I sublime.

Golden words

I draw my velvet curtains aside,
There glows the Sun’s pride,
The golden rays I see,
unbolt my eyes like a key.

Under the sky clad in gold,
I shiver within a storm so cold,
Like a dried leaf that departs a tree,
The final drop of hope drains away from me.

The golden rays of the Sun speak,
“A pity to see one turn so weak!!”
I fight back against the Sun’s might,
“Don’t you bathe in darkness every night?”

“I swim in the black pools of my limitless dream,
guided by the stars that gleam,
While in the whirlpool of doubts, you choose to drown.”
says the Sun, glaring with a frown.

I now finally see.

When I let fear grip me with ease,
panic strangles reason and dreams cease.
The stars fade away from the blue meadow,
while the moon reflects my empty shadow.

On what grounds I stand, I should choose,
for that view decides if I would win or lose.
Even in the darkest of time,
a sound mind could make the heart chime.

Even as the golden rays of the Sun die,
I shall prepare to soar high.
Hope would be alive within me,
I realize, only if I choose it to be.

Yuhu’s Corner:

“It’s all in your head” is something I hear a lot. Although it is sometimes annoying to hear that, I feel that it is true. The thoughts in the poem are those that I constantly remind myself of, to believe and have faith and not to succumb to thoughts of negativity.

I believe I’m becoming good at the disappearing act. Unfortunately, work is getting too hectic and I’m finding no time to write. I must write at least twice a week. Let’s see if I have the  Grit! Hope you’re all doing well.

Dangerously Spiky!

I saw this amazing tree, covered with conical thorns, looking certainly uninviting. I believe this tree belongs to the genus Ceiba.

Me: “Oooh! Such a scary tree!

Tree: “Don’t judge me by my looks, lady. I’m kind, let me gift you a mirror.”

Every branch, even the smallest one, is ornamented with such sharp spikes. The leaves look innocent though, as if they’ve got nothing to do with the scary branches.

Leaf : “At least, I’m pretty!”

Branch: Sharpening its spikes in the wind, “You said something, leaf?”

Leaf: Now scared, “I said, I’m pitied!”

I guess it looked uninviting only for me. I saw a few ants coolly climbing this tree. I couldn’t help but wonder what they felt, as they treaded along this dangerous looking trail. May be its just a fun trek for these guys!

Ants: “Lets see who gets to the top, first. The one who reaches first, gets to sleep with the Queen! C’mon!”

This reminds me of the widely opened mouth of a crocodile or an alligator, with sharp teeth. Yikes!

Dinosaur: “Hey! It kinda looks like my teeth too!”.

Well, if this tree doesn’t spell Danger!, then what does?

Yarn

Licked by the tentacles of the glowing Sun,
our Earth rotated and slowly spun,
the Yarn of life, binding you and me,
to the towering tree and the tiny bee.

Another yarn is spun by the wheels of time,
run by hearts dripping with slime.
They blind us with fear,
making the truth,  a smear.

Will a new day dawn,
with all their lies gone?
Will the Sun shine warmly above,
securing you and me in the yarn of love?
